White Rock Wave Masters Swim Club

Attention Swimmers

The White Rock Wave are presently swimming their spring schedule from Sept- Dec  Sunday 3:45pm and Monday / Wednesdays 8:45pm. The South Surrey Indoor Pool is located at 14655 17th Ave behind Semiahmoo Secondary. off 148th Street.  The Sunnyside outdoor pool that we use in the summer is off King George Blvd and 26th Ave in Sunnyside Park. 

 The club will be moving to the new Grandview pool 24th and 168th in March 2016 for two sessions Tues and Thurs 8:15pm and will stay at SSurrey pool for Sundays at 3:45pm

Drop by if you would like to see what the WAVE Masters swim club has to offer. Must be able to swim at least 100m (4 lengths) of the pool with a reasonable skill level and have a good health record. Anyone wishing to join can begin immediately IF there is an opening in their skill/fitness level lane.

The White Rock Wave is a Masters(age 18+++) Swim group located in the South Surrey/White Rock area of British Columbia, Canada.

We train three times a week. 1 hr+ workouts. We presently have over 50 members registered for our coached sessions and will accept new members in the lane that matches your ability when openings are available..

Million Metre Challenge

Our first members to reach the two million metre mark in the challenge sponsored by Masters Swim Canada were Rhonda McLean,91 yr old Elsa DeLeeuw and Joanne Christopherson. Fifteen other swimmers have reached MILLION Metres.... Jeff Buckert, Cheryl Tuira,Tamiko Fry,Andy Ji, Karlene Clapham, Theo Manley, Ted Willmer,Kim McCluskie; Alida Brichon, Gladys Willmer, Tony Pease, Sue Poulton and Paul Mathias who have received their gold caps, pins, and patch.

There are many 750,000m + swimmers and others passed 500,000 m winning SILVER CAPS and pins..

Awards are also given to the 250,000m Bronze caps and 100,000m blue caps levels.

Rankings

This past year 2014-15 Wave placed second in the medium size clubs BC Masters rankings earned by attending and placing at meets.

Our small team placed in the top 10 (SC25m/LC 50m) in the women's team total points in the Canadian Masters tally for 2004 & 2005 and in 20th SC/ 14th LC spots of overall team points based on rankings of the top 20 swimmers in each event in each of the five year span age groups from 63 meets and 204 Masters club teams in Canada.. see Events (results) for more info on individual placings. We also have members who have ranked in the top 10 in the world FINA standings for their age group every year. BUT our main focus is to teach adults to swim BETTER and enjoy the challenge of a GOOD workout.
